Homecoming Appreciation

As this year’s inaugural annual “Homecoming” comes to a peaceful end, you would all agree with me that it was a colorful time of the moment, a noteworthy one in history, and a memory-driven event for AUN students and community members at large.

The student body is indeed thankful to President Ensign for her value-added leadership, and also, Dr. Joe Johnson and VP Byron Bullock for their endless supports for student-inclined activities.

On behalf of the Student Government, I wish to specially acknowledge the members of staff and Alumni corps that contributed towards the homecoming event. We thank Dorsey Spenser and his team for the great job in pulling the various events together. Our immense gratitude goes out to Mr. Bello Abdullahi, Mr. Usoh Usoh, Ms. Meagan McKee, Mr. Abdul Omar, Mr. Verse Shom, Ms. Rosemary Adaji, Mr. Ahmed Aliyu, Ms. Rachel Olosunde, and Mr. Benjamin Namo Musa.

Also worthy of mentioning are the SGA officials who spearheaded the Road Block: Ms. Shalom Otuene, Mr. Yahaya Ali, Ms. Asmau Sambo, Mr. Auta Abubakar, Mr. Uchenna Tabansi, Muhammad Bashir, Mr. Hamza Salma, Senator Chisom Okoli, and Senator Sherifat Akintunde. I also thank Mr. Ahmed Sanda, Mr. Mohammed Muazu, Mr. Abduallhi Bala, Mr. Abdulrauf Goni, and Mr. Alpine Pine for their meaningful contributions.

All the students that performed during the Pageant and Concert did exceptionally well. The community hall was best prepared for the shows, and the contestants were articulate and professional in their displays. To all the stage participants, planners and others who contributed in one way or the other, I say a big thank you to you all.

This will certainly be another history in AUN students’ life; the advent of a successful Homecoming event with an objective that reinforces the value of community service and development.

AUN will continue to grow in her vision of a developmental university. Stay tuned, more is yet to come…this is just the beginning!
