AUN Top Officials For Rwanda Conference

President Margee Ensign and the University’s security consultant, Dr. Lionel von Frederick Rawlins, will be among the select speakers billed for a June 27th “International Conference on Governance and Democracy: African Perspective,” coming up in Rwanda.
Dr. Ensign will serve as a keynote speaker during the conference organized by the Rwandan government with the International Conference on the Great Lakes Region, the Commonwealth Secretariat, and United Nations Development Program.

“This is only for leaders in academia, institutions, business, etc. and the presenters were selected,” said Dr. Rawlins as he prepares for the outing.

The conference will serve as, “…a platform for policymakers, political leaders, practitioners, CSOs, academics and researchers from across Africa and the world – as to learn from findings on Africa and Rwanda in the recent past,” said Prof. Anastase Shyaka, the Chief Executive of Rwanda Governance Board. He signed the invitation.

Leaders who possess knowledge and expertise are expected to expound on shared principles of good practices in governance and democracy. They will be addressing more effective ways in which African governance can be approached and assessed.

Participants will also explore strategic options geared towards sustainable development and democratic governance for Rwanda and Africa as a whole.

The conference, which ends on July 2nd, coincides with Rwanda’s celebration of 50 years of independence.

Dr Ensign is the best thing that has happened in the history of AUN. She is and will remain the best before the rest, both in the past and the future.
